Description: The Diversionary Device Training System is a simple device that
has an operational charge. The reload is designed with a pyrotechnic delay of
one to two seconds and a report of approximately110 dB. Users get all of the
training benefits without the overpressure, movement, extreme light, heat or
fire hazard potential associated with an operational device. This device can be
used in virtually any environment for training purposes.
History/Background: This device was designed as a cost effective, inexpensive
way to train. The device is considered non-destructive, therefore the cumbersome
BATF paperwork is not required. The Item was designed to be exempt from
regulatory provisions, therefore there is no record keeping necessary with each
use.
Potential Targets/Applications: Prison/Civil Rioters/Tactical Entries (Training
purposes only)

Incapacitation Mechanism/Technology: The Diversionary Device Training System is
a realistic training tool for the deployment of operational Diversionary
Devices. This device is not intended for, nor should be used as an
incapacitation tool.
Physical Data: FUSE RELOAD: M201 Bouchant type fuze
Training Body: Manufactured from 4140 Gun Steel, Coated UN Blue, l lbs
Performance Characteristics: When activated, the explosive produces a report of
110 dB to 120 dB at 5 feet.
Delivery Means: Hand thrown
Operational Strengths: No additional equipment needed.
Operational Limitations: These devices should not be used in areas with high
fire potential.
Documentation Requirements: It is recommended that officers training records be
annotated to indicate that proper training of less lethal diversionary device
use has been accomplished.
DDTS Consists of one body and five reloads. Bodies and fuzes can be purchased
separately.
