For First Responders, Military or Civilian, the occurrence of catastrophic trauma is a source of much apprehension: situations involving broken bones, major contusions or severe bleeding which need to be administered to immediately and properly. The H and H Catastrophic Trauma Kit provides immediate first aid for any type of emergency which involves catastrophic trauma or excessive blood loss (such as arterial bleeding). The effective yet straightforward design of the kit allows anyone to administer the first aid when it's most needed, even for self help. Packaged in a vacuum-packed 8"x10" polybag, it's small and light enough to store anywhere. In any situation or environment, the Catastrophic Trauma Kit provides the critical emergency care needed to extend the Golden Hour, giving the severely injured individual more time to seek the vital emergency care they need.
The facts regarding Catastrophic Trauma speak for themselves: in the Military, over 50% of all Battlefield Deaths occur as a result of wounds in the extremities. In Civilian emergencies, an estimated 50,000 deaths occur each year from bleeding (caused by the accident in which they occurred). Hemorrhaging and arterial bleeding are easily seen as major contributors to loss of life in both sectors. Notably, wounds in the extremities which cause excessive hemorrhaging and/or arterial bleeding are the type of wounds which require immediate first aid in order to save the life of the victim. Along with these facts it is also known that in many situations the wounded individual will need to administer self-help and, in the cases of wounds to extremities, must do it using only one hand.
The Catastrophic Trauma Kit is a necessary tool for First Responders, helping them to aid the severly injured. For Law Enforcement (those first on the accident scene) it enables care to be provided in situations involving severe trauma, hemorrhaging and amputation. It is vacuum packed small, for storage anywhere. The Catastrophic Trauma Kit replaces 50 year-old technology and gives the First Responder or Law Enforcement the products they need to care for individual or mass casualty emergencies.
