Another product to come out of the recent collaboration with a number of US Naval Special Warfare shooters is the new Original S.O.E. Gear Helmet Ballast. Designed to combat helmet droop and sag created by heavy forward-mounted PVS14 and PVS7 NODs, the NSW Strobe/Battery Ballast mounts directly to the helmet by way of adhesive velcro on the helmet's surface.
They started out small with this project, but before long the design took on a new level of utility and in the end they have an extremely unique and useful piece of kit that they believe is important for any soldier, Marine, airman, or sailor operating overseas.
The NSW Helmet Ballast securely carries the MS2000 Strobe and six each CR123s and AA/AAA batteries. The MS2000's pouch, like the standalone Strobe Pouch, does not interfere with the operation of the strobe in any way -- a reinforced window allows the strobe to activated or deactivated without requiring removal. The batteries are held on an internal pull-out tray, ideal for organization, secure storage, and easy removal and insertion into devices even while wearing gloves or with cold hands.
Sizing: Carries MS2000 Strobe and 6 CR123 and 6 AA/AAA batteries.
Specifications:Genuine 1000 Denier Cordura nylon. Requires adhesive velcro be mounted to helmet (not included).
